Dear Andrew Community Families,
We hope that everyone is making the most of this trying time and you are able to find some joy each day. We have been so thankful for all of the staff and community members who have made our lunch program successful in the past two and a half weeks. Unfortunately, we knew the time would come that we would need to re-evaluate our ability to continue to provide meals safely to our students. The safety of our staff, students, and our communities is our number one priority even though we are not in session.
We have come to the difficult decision that we need to put our meal program on hold for the next few weeks and re-evaluate our ability to continue at this time. We wish we could continue the program, but every day we prepare and serve meals we are jeopardizing the health of our staff, students, and all of our families.
Thursday, April 9, 2020, will be our last meal drop off/pick up time until we re-evaluate. Our plan for next week is to provide lunches as we do for our deliveries. On Monday, we will provide students with breakfast/lunch bags for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We will not hand out lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then on Thursday, we will provide students with breakfast/lunch bags for Thursday and Friday. Thursday will be our last day providing meals until we are able to deem it is safe for ALL to do so, assuming the state is still offering to support the program. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for assistance. If there are things we can provide, or services to direct you to, we will. We are here to help. Enjoy the time with your family and we can’t wait to see everyone back at school!
Sincerely,
Andrew Administration
