LEAP will be staying at school today.
We will not have after-school LEAP on Thursday, April 18th. This will make it easier for students to get ready and prepare for their Spring Concert.
Parents,
For those of you attending the Choir Festival Concert tonight. The concert is at the Art Experience building in downtown Maquoketa (124 South Main Street). It used to be the old Osterhaus Pharmacy building.
Dear Andrew Families,
On Monday, April 8th there will be a solar eclipse. This is a rare opportunity for students to witness. From what I have heard, this will take place between 1:00 and 2:00 pm.
Our main priority is to ensure the safety of all the students during the solar eclipse. Our students are inside during this time as recesses get over at 12:30.
We are all planning to go outside to witness this event with the proper gear. To do this safely, the school has purchased a pair of proper solar eclipse viewing glasses for each student and staff member. If you would not like your child/children to participate in the viewing of the eclipse, please notify the school at 563.672.3221.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
Thanks,
Mr. Kirchhoff
Due to restrooms not being open yet at city parks, LEAP will be staying at school today and next Thursday.
Andrew families.....Trent's bus route (Bus #10) is going to be running about 10-15 minutes behind today. We apologize for any inconvenience.

This morning, famous author Julia Cook came to do presentations for our students. Her presentations were AMAZING and our students really enjoyed her. Your student is being sent home with a book order form. Books are shipping and tax free. If you'd like to purchase some books for your student, please fill out and return the form and your payment to school by next Wednesday, March 27th. Thank you!
Maquoketa Middle and High School will be closed today, March 22, due to the weather. The Andrew School is planning on a normal school day.
The Andrew and Bellevue Schools are starting on time today. Maquoketa Schools are having a two hour delay. Andrew buses will run their normal route and then go back and run a late route for Maquoketa Middle and High School students.
Friendly Reminder.....

4th-6th grade Families! - This year at the Spring Concert, students in grades 4-6 will be a part of a mini-musical program called, “Hawaiian Beach Party.” This mini-musical will be approximately 30 minutes long and will include a dialogue that students will have the opportunity to be a part of. Students who were given a speaking line are encouraged to have their line(s) memorized as soon as possible! All 4th-6th grade students are strongly encouraged to wear Hawaiian/summer-style clothing. Ideal outfits would be a summery dress, a Hawaiian-style shirt and khaki shorts, a nice shirt and khaki pants, etc. Please keep in mind that coconut attire, grass skirts, and swimsuits/trunks will NOT be acceptable. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Stevely by email at bailey.stevely@andrew.k12.ia.us. To make our stage a fun, beach party atmosphere, we are looking for some alternative seating for students such as square hay bales and beach chairs. If you have items such as these and would be okay with us borrowing them, please let Mrs. Stevely know as soon as possible! Thank you so much for your support, hope to see you soon at our Spring Concert on April 18th @ 6:30 PM!!
Hello Andrew Families! Our Spring Concert will be held on Thursday, April 18th, in the Andrew Gymnasium at 6:30 PM! Family and friends are encouraged to attend. In order for us to get students in the correct order and down to the gym, we are asking students to arrive at 6:15 PM and report to their classrooms. Students in grades K-3 are encouraged to wear nice, spring-colored attire. Students in grades 4-6 are encouraged to wear Hawaiian, beach-style attire. Please be aware that there will be a short intermission before the 4th-6th grade mini-musical, “Hawaiian Beach Party.” If you have any questions, you can contact Mrs. Stevely by email at bailey.stevely@andrew.k12.ia.us or call the school at 563.672.3221. Thanks so much and hope to see you there!
Reminder. Last Wednesday, a notification was sent that Thursdays for the 4th quarter LEAP were full. Students are still encouraged to sign up for the other days of the week.
